Had induction today, so that's nicely over with. After that hour or so, I went to ask my team member "Bruce" (he's Australian alright...deal with it..) what I needed to do, since he was also on House. He didn't know (he's new too, just came in February), so we went to find the sort of leader for House that day. She showed me where the cleaning supplies and stuff were and set my to work cleaning baseboards and doors. They looked fine when you just sorta glanced at them, and then you went down on your hands and knees to clean them and they were
filthy! Not so much fun. But I cleaned most of them from the front entry way to the end of the back hall, and a few in the Dining Room, and by that time I was off and it was lunch time.
Since we have two school groups in this week, both the Dining Room and Conservatory were full of eating guests, so we had to go eat in the Staff Lounge at the top of the house. So I was up there for a bit, and then I was done lunch so I went and put my dishes away and came to my room...my awesome room... :) I sat around there for a while and then went to find Bruce since he was supposed to help me put my curtains up, but I couldn't find him (found out later he was at the other end of the center grounds doing House stuff over there...). Anyways, I eventually found him, and for those of you who will understand this I did point and say "I found you!" (even though he wasn't Charlie...I felt special nonetheless). We got the curtains hung without much trouble and I still had about 2 hours till I was supposed to start work again, so I put on a sweater and went for a walk.
It was beautiful to say the least. Love, love, love all the views. I took a bunch of pictures so I suppose I'll put them up for ya! Hope you enjoy them! We'll see if they upload before I have to go on shift again...4:00-7:30...

At the other end of the center. I'm pretty sure this might have been some sort of stable way back when |
I know I say this a lot, but there are an enormous amount of Snowdrops |
A short walking path that I went down |
Back up the path |
Ivy is cool |
Some flowering gorse. When full spring comes the hills will be yellow with it; I'm pretty excited about that! |
Around the bend |
A brook by the side of the road. The sound of it was almost seemed like the sound of the wind moving through the fall leaves, but, of course, there were no leaves on the trees |
Onwards to the flock of sheep |
The country roads are only one lane, so they have areas that are a bit wider so that oncoming traffic can pass. However, if you meet where there is no sign, you might have to back up for a ways till you find a wider piece of road! |
This sheep totally saw me and then decided to pose... |
I really do love seeing all the sheep on the hills! |
Come April (and maybe even the end of March) this hill will be yellow! |
The Snowdrop I picked...I did, indeed, throw away my luck when I returned to the Centre... (that was a reference...but to what? please feel free to comment with your guess...) |
Right, so I didn't finish blogging last night so this blog is spread over the 4th and the 5th. The internet was being super duper annoying last night, and the pictures where taking forever to upload and things, and then we were a little late getting off the last shift, and then we watched a movie so...yeah, this is getting finished at 12:16 on March 5.
I had my first full mishap today. Not only did I drop a whole bunch of plastic cups when I was coming down the stairs to the Dining Room, thus ensuring that they needed to be washed again, I also knocked over a small, half full picture of milk in the fridge making sure that that needed to be fully cleaned out as well.
Thankfully, the fridge was dirty anyways, so it would have needed to be done soon. I just sped the process up a bit. That, and the fact that the order of food from Tesco came in, I had to stay on about 45 minutes over time cleaning stuff up and making sandwiches. I didn't mind seeing as it was my fault. Apparently Bruce has broken quite a few dishes since he started, so the other people in the kitchen were joking that he decided we needed new dishes and I decided the fridge needed cleaning out.
Anyhoo....it's getting close to lunch time, so I'm going to stop...might blog again at the end of the week but we'll see!
Oh, by the way, for those of you who care, I found a true fangirling friend...watches all the same BBC shows as I do...namely, Doctor Who, Sherlock, and Merlin. We were having a fangirling party full of high fives in the kitchen when we were doing the washing up...it was great fun! :)
update...thank you Mom for pointing out my spelling errors! :)
Imagine that! A Scottish Blackface roaming the hills and dales in Scotland! Go figure! No sense of adventure, those sheep...Baa baaa
